Kerala Model : Revisiting the Paradigms
The much talked about Kerala model is at present in a state of hibernation. The remembrance of another Nov 1 should invoke certain thoughts beyond routine jubilations and euphoria. A fuller degree introspection on the priorities is the need of the hour. The political will need to be reinstated from all the possible corners. Present state of affairs show that our institutions are back tracking to become just another facilitator for market interests. This scenario should be reversed by any means. Market can expand and grow in renewed pace but it should not be at the cost of the state mechanism. Inclusive development should not be a paradigm to displace the state but to strengthen the state by integrating the market forces to its development stages.
